another quote from JP

"The one and only Reality in the universe that can fully and eternally satisfy the human heart is the glory of God - the beauty of all that God is for us in Jesus."

Such truth - nothing of this world, absolutely nothing, can satisfy our hearts to the full extent that God can. This is how we were created to be; it is not something we can change, but rather IS a part of our reality as human beings. The futility of man's pursuits is a sad truth - how one puts so much effort and delves so deep into the temporal satisfactions of this world only to come out burned in the end...fallen deeper into anguish than was initially. Life's activities are but mere vanity without an eternal perspective in mind, but yet how does one maintain such a stance with all that life bombards us with...school, work, 'relationships', etc...all these things may bring us a sense of fulfillment in the present, but bears no eternal value...these things will not carry through with us into eternity. Not to say that we should just put these things aside and live a life exclusive of these, but instead approaching them in such a way that brings glory to God. Even moreso, to not become so entwined in these ways of life that we lose sight of the actuality of life's purpose. Living in light of eternity should have an effect on how we prioritize the varying aspects of life. Only that which has eternal weight will satisfy us with certainty.

Hi Zabrina,
We are going out for the last family holiday week.. the one with Steve Theisen speaking. We are really looking foward to it. We haven't been out there since I left in May/05. It should be fun. Our friends Heather and Edwin are coming out as well. I think we will fly to Vancouver and drive over to the Island. Well.. hope school is going well for ya!
Luv,
Sam
